Case Study

Kindred Malta

We began developing our Maltese business in 2018 when one of our London based clients, Kindred, asked us to develop a catering proposition for their state-of-the-art office in Tigné Point.

Their stunning restaurant overlooking the harbour, caters for around 500 employees and serves over 1,000 meals a day. Thomas Franks introduced a wider range of healthier and tastier food options including daily chef’s specials, fresh fruit and hot and cold pudding options. As food plays an important part in staff retention for Kindred, we implemented international flavours to cater for their very multicultural workforce. In addition, Thomas Franks offered traditional local Maltese cuisine such as the infamous Maltese bread made freshly everyday to complement seasonal soups.

Moreover, we introduced a bigger emphasis on health and wellbeing by using high quality ingredients throughout the dishes as well as in their artisan salad bar. Thomas Franks created an artisan salad bar that allowed employees and staff to create their own salads or choose from nutritious, ‘ottolenghi’ style salads already made by our chefs. To take advantage of their amazing location by the sea, Thomas Franks added more fish and seafood options to celebrate the fresh and local Maltese produce.

Food was not only served to employees, but at events as well. Thomas Franks offered additional hospitality provision for frequent iGaming events held by Kindred. None of this would be possible without the skilled team who operate 24 hours, seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and supper services.

Malta Business Registry

The Malta Business Registry is responsible for the registration of commercial partnerships and legal entities. With an office of around 250 employees, Thomas Franks has revamped the food offer since starting the contract in September 2020.

Our fully-trained chefs have collaborated with our registered and qualified nutritionist to put together a nutritionally balanced 3 week rolling menu, showcasing the best of Maltese produce in meat, fish, vegan and vegetarian dishes. The newly introduced artisan salad bar has been a huge success, celebrating fresh local Maltese produce in its simplest form. We provide daily service of breakfast and lunch, with a great helping hand from the front of house catering team. In addition to this, we have offered hospitality support providing working lunches with a selection of freshly made sandwiches and sweet treats.
