Joining the Thomas Franks family over a year ago, one of our apprentices, Alex, has quickly become an integral part of our family. His journey has been nothing short of remarkable, filled with growth, learning, and the creation of meaningful connections and friendships. It has been so amazing to see how Alex has grown as a person from starting out a year ago to the person he has become today, whether that is learning in the classroom, helping out at locations or with his work experience at Tom Aikens’ restaurant, Muse.
To find out more about how Alex has been getting on with his experience, we asked him a couple of questions:
What has been the most rewarding part of your apprenticeship so far?
“To say the least, the team have simply been the most rewarding part of my time at Thomas Franks. Getting to know people with tonnes of knowledge and creativity, who have shown me support and welcomed me with open arms, has simply been incredible. Knowing that I have, and always will get to meet and train with many talented people, who all love the work they do, has really been the most fulfilling part of my journey.”
Can you share a particular moment or project that stands out to you during your time at Thomas Franks?
“Working with the whole Thomas Franks team at Saint Joseph’s Rugby Festival in Ipswich, has been one of the most outstanding events I’ve had the opportunity to attend and help provide my experience to. It gave me an insight to the workings of a spectacular Thomas Franks event. It stood out as I gained a lot of knowledge during my time at the festival, learning from countless others who are part of the TF family.”
Along with those amazing words, Alex has the following to say, “Special thanks to Frank Bothwell for trusting in me and to Mary Ann Peregrine for being an incredible mentor. Also, a heartfelt thank you to my parents for their unwavering support. This journey is just beginning, and I’m excited for what’s to come! Thank you, team!”
His words throughout are an amazing representation of the values we hold dear at Thomas Franks – a commitment to learning, a sense of community, and the importance of mentorship. His gratitude towards Frank and Mary Ann highlights the supportive environment we strive to create, where every individual is encouraged to reach their full potential.
Alex’s enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring, and we are excited to see where his journey takes him next!
