SOLUTION
Thomas Franks has embedded itself into the Shiplake community, with our team becoming a huge part of daily life. The team delivers three fresh meals a day for boarders, alongside lunch, dinner and snacks for day pupils.
A commitment to fresh, from scratch cooking defines the approach at Shiplake. 97% of food is freshly prepared at location, reducing waste and eliminating unnecessary packaging. Thanks to significant investment in kitchen infrastructure, including a complete refurbishment, the team has enhanced efficiency, expanded menu variety, and improved cooking techniques. New kitchen facilities, including a dedicated pastry section, a new salad preparation area, and a new, bigger fridge and freezer, enables the chefs to produce even more innovative and high-quality dishes, with more flexibility and creativity.
Beyond the kitchen, the dining experience at Shiplake is central to student wellbeing. Meals are served in the impressive Great Hall, creating a relaxed, social environment where students and staff come together to enjoy the food in a welcoming atmosphere.
