Business

The Client

Blind Veterans UK’s Brighton & Llandudno offices provide invaluable support to vision-impaired ex-Servicemen and women, assisting them in rebuilding their lives after sight loss through rehabilitation.

The Challenge

Blind Veterans UK sought to enhance the quality of their food offerings and provide better support for their catering team. The existing services lacked the freshness and variety needed to cater to the unique needs of vision-impaired customers.

OUR APPROACH

In April 2022, Thomas Franks began working closely with Blind Veterans UK to address their concerns and revamp their catering services. We introduced fresh menus tailored to the needs of vision-impaired residents, implemented a new labour structure, and provided comprehensive training and development opportunities for the catering team.

RESULTS

The partnership with Blind Veterans UK has flourished, our tailored approach ensures that vision-impaired residents receive a highly personalised dining experience, with dishes prepared and served with their specific needs in mind. The café offers fresh and vibrant options, including barista coffee and grab-and-go items, catering to both visitors and staff.

Hospitality at Blind Veterans UK is vibrant, with numerous charity events and memorial days throughout the year. Thomas Franks proudly supports these events, including hosting disabled Ukrainian athletes as they trained for a competition.

Our commitment to adding value is evident through informative visits from our ambassadors and Nutrition and Wellbeing team. Collaborating with Blind Veterans UK, we produced a budget-friendly food brochure, offering practical tips and tricks for creating nutritious meals.

As Blind Veterans UK continues its vital work, Thomas Franks remains dedicated to providing exceptional service and support, ensuring that every meal served reflects our commitment to excellence and care.
